Honda’s Executive Vice President has confirmed that the company will introduce an all new CR-V later this year as a 2012 model to replace the current CR-V which received its last facelift in early 2010. Honda has high expectations from the new CR-V, especially for the north American market where the Element has recently been axed from the lineup, and the competition continues to get more fierce from all directions. The new CR-V is expected to be slightly larger than the current model and will be offered in a number of different trim configurations, from basic, to more luxurious model. In addition, a hybrid powertrain will be available, although not yet confirmed for the UAE or GCC markets. Expect the new CR-V to continue to be a competitively priced, highly reliable mid-size SUV with excellent on road handling, and average off-road capabilities.
